Builder in a huge way. They've had some pretty amazing guests from the
likes of Biz Markie to Mya. You can imagine how stoked the Chromeo guys
where when they were asked to drop by the studio to teach the giant
psychedelic monsters how to two step. No air date yet, but it's coming

Finally, the people over at iMeem hooked up with Dark Meat in the middle of Haight Ashbury in San Francisco. They take a tour of the 1970's green bus that the band calls home, and then go for a stroll through hippy-town bringing the music to the people. Check out the fun here.

The massive cross country and back again tour is finally over. It's almost hard to believe. Jim McHugh is probably one the best writers who also fronts a badass band we've ever encountered. Read about Jim's tour antics and perils here.

Now that North America has been conquered, next is Europe! They will be playing the Way Out West Festival in Goteborg, Sweden on August 7th and then its off to the Oya Festival in Oslo on Saturday, August 9th.
Dark Meat have teamed up with Diplo and Atlas Sound to put out a 7" for our dear old friend Henry Owings of Chunklet Magazine. Dark Meat will be on one side of the 7" and Atlas Sound will take the reigns for the other side. Both bands will be remixed by the one and only Diplo. Watch out Henry, you may have met your whirly ball match! As if that weren't enough you can see all three bands play, assuming of course you live in Georgia.

Last week the Black Lips headlined the Mojave tent at Coachella, and as per usual when the Black Lips have the spotlight they take advantage of it. This time by torching their guitars and for a grand finale smashing them to bits and then offering the rock n roll eucharist to the audience. Pure Black Lips magic. The film features the Montreal duo's "Fancy Footwork" hit and some
pretty spectacular zombie puppet animation. The creepy yet comical
near-life-size creations mark the film studio's first attempt at
puppetry, and we think it's a pretty solid one at that! The resultant
clip is a "flawless musical thriller" that we only want to see more of.

we're pretty sure is not an actual song (although the phrase "I want a
fucking a-rab to get a real nice racial dick" has been bouncing around

If you're a Bloc Party fan and you're not a member of the Marshals (their fan club), then you're doing yourself a major disservice. Like with most fan clubs by signing up you can get offers for music and tickets way before the rest of the lame's out there. But more importantly is the insanely huge community of rabid fans that are always posting images of shows, discussing music, and meeting other fans. Remember how Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire totally made Jarvis Cocker's career? It brought him out of complete obscurity and made him into a star. We're hoping that the new film "Let It Be" produced by Andrew Meyer (Fried Green Tomatoes, The Breakfast Club) and staring the Lips, will immortalize their place in rock n' roll history. The film begins production in May of 2008, and rest assured we'll keep you updated.

Munich, Germany - To a packed crowd at the Olympiahalle Justice confidently took home the MTV Europe Video of The Year award for an unprecedented back to back win. Kanye was noticeably absent while the award was handed over as was any kind of liquor fueled concession speech. On October 31st, Vice and EA are teaming up to throw a rager of a Halloween Party in San Francisco. To celebrate our favorite holiday and the release of EA's appropriately themed Hellgate, we'll all be putting on our best disguises and heading down to Fat City in downtown SF to party with 700 of our closest friends and an open bar. With a soundtrack provided by DJs Omar (popscene) and Franki Chan (iheartcomix) and a live performance by Chromeo at midnight, this one is sure to add a new chapter to San Francisco's storied Halloween party tradition. Hot damn! Chromeo got together with their friend Nima Nourizadeh and made one amazing video for Bonafide Lovin'. Its a total tribute to the Dire Straights "Money For Nothing" one of the best and most recognizable videos ever made. Back when MTV still played videos this one was a staple for sure. There is a benefit exhibit going up on October 26th for the band featured in Heavy Metal Baghdad, Acrassicauda. Featuring the works of over 30 photographers, it's going to be an amazing gathering of works from some of our favorite picture takers. When the Black Lips first starting sending in music of the new stuff they were working on, one of the immediate favorite was "Veni Vidi Vici." It's just so sexy and different from what you'd expect to come from the mind of Cole Alexander. For some reason listening to this song makes us want to wear tassles. So it makes sense that when shifting through new songs to remix, Diplo would settle on this guy. NME premiered the track today, click over and see how he sexed up the track even more.
Chromeo just wrapped up a week of funkified MTV 52/52, "Tenderoni" has been added to the MTV rotation and we just finished a week of Chromeo Jaxxy takeover and we're just beginning. On October 17, Chromeo will be taking the stage Justice tore up to show Kimmel how to look sharp and lead the audience in their own brand of rump-shaking dance. Wanna party? Party here.

It's with heavy hearts we report that Panthers had a substantial amount of gear stolen - in Canada of all places. Between a broken window, a forced missed gig in Toronto and a tragic loss of amazing gear, the fellas have fallen on some serious hard times. missed the show in toronto yesterday cause we didnt get there in time and they wouldnt let us play. but we had to file a police report and check pawn shops and try to get the window fixed. so yeah lost 300 on what we would get paid. and you know how expensive hotels are in canada. and the window is going to cost us 200 bucks. and as you know our budget was tight as hell already so it is a real fucking bummer. not to mention all the shit......but anyways not to drag on. here is the list

Lucky you, Vancouver, Black Lips are coming to town. Tonight they play Richard's on Richards but this afternoon they are doing a free instore OUTside of the store at 5pm at Red Cat AND the halal butcher shop next door is going to have a kebab cart for the kids! Meat on a spicket and the Black Lips. Vancouver, who could ask for anything more? If you're that demanding, check out the Black Lips' Canadian tour diary over at Exclaim! Not too shabby.
Now, we were pretty excited when we saw the opening graphic card with "Black Lips" on the Conan background, and when O'Brien introed the band saying "I love the music guest tonight...they're great," we got a little giddy, but when he held up that pretty vinyl and the boys launched into their rousing live rendition of "O Katrina!" we just about burst with pride. You can stream the entire episode for a month here (show aired October 9 for those not keeping score) and if you want to skip right to the good stuff, it's the second to last tick on the player around the 35 minute mark. And an enterprising youngster put a clip up on YouTube. Watch now and watch often.
mtvU, the arm of MTV that still rejoices in playing music videos has a little "contest" each week for favorite new videos called the Freshmen and Black Lips' "Cold Hands" is in the running. Up against Hezekiah, the Winter Sounds, Schoolyard Heroes and the "I’d still fuck that one" Pipettes, "Cold Hands" sounds like it could beat any of those guys up on a playground - but will it be so lucky on the interweb? Go vote for "Cold Hands" over at mtvU and keep the Black Lips on top. The winning video actually makes it on air - if "Cold Hands" looks that good on your computer screen, imagine the wonder of watching it on a real actual TV.
Panthers are on the road on the rock juggernaut that is the High on Fire tour. Along the way the fellas did a turn at Fuel TV and power housed through "Uncertainly" and "Goblin City." Tonight those throat grabbers will air on "The Daily Habit," Fuel TV's daily series of rad music which will play tonight, October 3 at 9pm EST, again at midnight and then tomorrow at 2:30pm and 5:30pm. Set the TiVo and get ready to rumble.
The Jimmy Kimmel "Pontiac Garage Outdoor Stage" is going to turn into a raucous dance party tonight when Chromeo takes the spotlight for their second Kimmel performance to perform "Fancy Footwork" and "My Girl is Calling Me (A Liar)". 12:05/11:05c on ABC. This is a not to be missed performance.
